Aureole — A Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies and Research is an annual, peer-reviewed journal published by the Research Cell of St. Stephen’s College Uzhavoor, Kottayam, Kerala, India.
Aureole publishes original research in English, Malayalam and Hindi across the sciences, humanities and social sciences. See Aims and Scope for the subject areas covered and for the kinds of work the journal does not publish.
Submission schedule
Volume XVIII (2026) is in production and will be published in November 2026. Submissions for this volume are closed.
Volume XIX (2027) opens for submissions on 1 January 2027.
Manuscript format
Manuscripts should be submitted as per the following format:
Title Page, Name of author(s), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if necessary) and References. Abstract: may contain up to 300 words. Keywords: A maximum of 5 keywords must be given at the end of the Abstract.
Research articles should not exceed 7,000 words, approximately nine A4 pages, including references.
File format. Submit the manuscript as a single Microsoft Word file (.docx). PDFs cannot be accepted for review, as the file must remain editable through editing and production.
Typography. Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, A4 page size, margins of 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all four sides, and pages numbered consecutively.
Manuscripts in Malayalam and Hindi must be set in a Unicode font. Text prepared in legacy non-Unicode fonts cannot be typeset or indexed reliably and will be returned for resubmission.
Figures and tables
All figures should be arranged orderly; the figures should be incorporated in the proper positions. Figure number, title and caption should be given below the figure, the contents of the figures should be explained in the caption of the figure. All tables should be numbered in the order and should be placed in the proper position.

References should follow the pattern given below

Authorship
Authorship requires all four of the following: a substantial contribution to conception, design, acquisition, analysis or interpretation; drafting or critical revision of the manuscript; approval of the version submitted; and agreement to be accountable for the work.
Contributors who do not meet all four criteria — technical assistance, supervised data collection, general supervision, or funding acquisition alone — should be named in the Acknowledgements with their permission.
The order of authors is determined by the authors themselves. The corresponding author handles communication with the journal and confirms that all listed authors have approved the submission. Changes to authorship after submission require the written agreement of all authors, including any being added or removed.
What to include with your submission
Every submission must carry the following. These are requirements of the journal’s published policies, and a manuscript missing them will be returned before review.
- A statement that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere in any language, and is not under consideration at another journal.
- A conflict of interest statement. Disclose any financial or personal relationship that could be seen to influence the work. Where there is nothing to declare, state “The authors declare no conflict of interest.” See Conflict of Interest.
- A funding declaration, naming the funding body and grant number where applicable.
- A statement on the use of AI tools, placed at the end of the manuscript, naming any tool used and what it was used for — including for language editing or translation assistance. See Use of Artificial Intelligence.
Similarity screening
Every manuscript is screened for textual similarity using licensed software before it is sent for review. Manuscripts showing overall similarity above 10%, excluding the reference list and properly attributed quotations, are returned to the author. See Plagiarism Policy.
Copyright and access
Authors retain copyright. Submission grants the journal the right of first publication. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence, free to read and download without subscription or registration, with no embargo. Authors may deposit the published version in any repository immediately on publication.
How to cite this journal
When citing an article published in Aureole, please give the journal’s full title together with its ISSN. A second Indian journal publishes under the name Aureole, and a citation giving the title alone cannot reliably be attributed to the correct journal.
Example:
Author, A. (2025). Title of the article. Aureole: A Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies and Research, 17, 1–8. ISSN 2455-877X.
The journal is registered as ISSN 2249-7862 (Print) and ISSN 2455-877X (Online). Authors listing their work for institutional returns, academic performance scores or curricula vitae should include the ISSN for the same reason.
Charges
There is no fee to submit a manuscript and no fee for review. An article processing charge of ₹1,500 falls due only on acceptance. A printed copy of the volume may be ordered for a further ₹500; this is entirely optional and authors who do not order one receive an identical open-access article. See Article Processing Charges.
How your manuscript will be assessed
Manuscripts are screened for scope and presentation, then sent for single-blind review by subject experts. Authors receive the reviewer’s full written comments, not merely the decision. See Peer Review Policy for the full process and timeline.
Moving to Open Journal Systems
From Volume XIX the journal will use Open Journal Systems (OJS) for manuscript submission and peer review. This will give authors a tracked submission, direct correspondence with the editors, and a clear record of each stage of review.
