This policy governs the use of artificial intelligence tools in work submitted to Aureole — A Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies and Research.
Authorship
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authorship requires accountability for the work, which software cannot hold.
Permitted, with disclosure
Authors may use AI tools for language editing, translation assistance, formatting and reference management. Such use must be disclosed in a statement at the end of the manuscript naming the tool and describing what it was used for.
Requiring justification
Use of AI to generate substantive text, to analyse data, or to produce figures must be described in the Methods section in sufficient detail for a reader to evaluate it.
Prohibited
Fabrication of data, results, references or images using AI tools is research misconduct and is handled under the Publication Ethics policy. Authors are responsible for verifying every reference they cite; AI-fabricated citations identified during review result in rejection.
Reviewers
Reviewers must not upload manuscripts to public AI tools. Manuscripts are confidential and such uploads breach that confidence.
